Perth Lesbian Sport
Lesbian Sport is a closed Facebook Community Group with over 1000 members. The name 'Lesbian' on this page includes all lgbtqia+ people who are eligible to play in any women’s sporting competition (includes gender-diverse and non-binary individuals). It is named ‘Lesbian’ for the convenience of a short title that hopefully encourages lgbtqia+ people who are eligible to play in any women’s sporting competition, to join.
Purpose:
The group was set up to aid the empowerment of Women through sport.
To see/get:
- the results of WA Women's national teams.
- when major women's sports are playing in Perth.
- get updates on women's sporting competitions in Perth.
And also to:
- look for a sport to join or play.
- promote lgbtqia+ sporting clubs.
- encourage lgbtqia+ people who are eligible to play in any women’s sporting competition, participation in a particular sport.
- get fill-in players for teams.
- find a buddy to go surfing, play tennis etc.
- organise a fan base to go to sporting events with.
- promote sporting opportunities like coaching, courses etc.
- minimise mental health issues in our community through sport.
- facilitate community sporting events or new sports clubs to grow and thrive.
